Kathryn is fascinated by language, and the satisfaction of finding the perfect expression to convey the author’s intention. She works closely with clients, providing a tailored service, enabling them to submit high-quality English texts for publication. Kathryn’s mother tongue is English and she holds a First Class Honours degree in French and German, with Dutch. She has worked in a multi-lingual and international context throughout her career to date: in Brussels, Amsterdam, and more recently, in the UK as a translator and editor. She lived in Belgium for 11 years and the Netherlands for 10 years, and has been married to a Dutchman since 1989.

Kathryn´s objective is to provide accurate translations that convey the nuances and tone of the original text. She works closely with each of her clients to understand and meet their specific needs. Her strong organisational and communication skills ensure efficient and effective management of each client’s project.

In her work as translator and editor, Kathryn draws upon her experience in an international training and banking environment. This, coupled with a strong interest in social affairs and in the arts, provides a depth and breadth of subject matter, concepts and vocabulary on which to draw as she translates or fine-tunes texts for her clients. She is equally comfortable with working on texts of a formal, business nature and with creative, abstract subject matter.

At Management Centre Europe, she was responsible for the development and organisation of courses and international conferences on corporate law and several financial topics.

Kathryn developed training curricula and managed a range of training programmes for employees in EMEA, Asia and the Americas within the Transaction Banking division of a global bank. The focus was on interactive, results-oriented training, with measurement of its effectiveness and a link to sales results.
